About Me:

I am currently a sixth year graduate student working towards my doctoral degree in the Geophysics Curricular Group at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. My current research interests lie in geophysical instrumentation and low frequency seismology.

I graduated from the University of California San Diego in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in physics (specialization in astrophysics) and minors in music and communications. Shortly there after, I worked as a researcher for the San Diego Supercomputer Center in La Jolla, California. While there I did extensive wireless network research.

When I am not in class or doing research, I can be found tutoring, fixing computers, tinkering on cars, reading, listening to music, working on my websites, or hanging out with friends. If you know someone who needs tutoring or if you need a computer fixed, feel free to call or email me and I will try to set something up.

  • April 24th, 2007: I was interviewed by Alan Ray on the KPBS morning program “These Days” about seismic activity in San Diego. You can download an mp3 or podcast of the interview from the KPBS website.

  • March 7 - 17, 2007: I am going on a trip to Portugal, Spain and France with a group of friends.

  • October 14th, 2006: I have finished Jacob's Ladder ver 2.0 I think it came out great. If you ever want to see it live, feel free to ask. If you ever want to borrow it, let me know.

  • October 13th, 2006: Our building at work is falling apart! I work in one of the basement labs at times, and was instructed to no longer go in there. Take a look at this power point presentation to see why! The photos from inside the basement are of the ceiling -- in the back right corner of the lab. Only the best for UC Grads!

  • September 15th, 2006: I am back from my trip to Norway and Europe. After we finished the cruise, I visited Paris, Amsterdam and Spain. I got to see a lot of family while I was there. Awesome trip and great pictures. I will eventually post them when I find some time.

  • July 6th, 2006: The trip to Norway is rapidly approaching. It now looks as if we will be leaving in early August, rather than late August.

  • July 5th, 2006: I just returned from my trip to Boston and Washington DC. Fireworks were great and had a ton of fun. Photos will be posted soon.

  • May 08, 2006: Some of the fellow grad students gathered to find out what happens when you mix carbonated soda with Mentos.

  • May 04, 2006: I have added more new episodes of Southpark to the Southpark Vault. Enjoy the new episodes.

  • May 01, 2006: My scanner site reaches an all time first -- the most listeners ever!. Click here to see how many.

  • October 14th, 2005: I placed in the top three at the 2005 Viz Contest at Scripps! This means I won a pair of Bose Quiet Comfort II headphones! To see my contest entry, please click here.

  • October 2005: I made another media debut in early October! This time, I was interviewed by Fox 6 News about the Pakistan earthquake and the likelyhood of a similar event striking in the San Diego region. Ask me about it, if you want to know the answer!
